Isolation Day 10:
Today was so similar to many of the other days. So what will I want to remember about this time?
Firstly, Auric is really into pretending to have been knocked unconscious, your approach coincidentally timed with him rousing from a blackout. Sometimes fake blood is involved. Often amnesia has occurred. So that keeps things interesting.
Secondly, you know how all the pet owners have said something about their pet being the unlikely winner in this lockdown situation because the pet gets to bask in their human family 24/7?
Well, you want to know who has won second place? The fantails in our yard. Since we’re home with the doors open all day, they’ve decided that the flies buzzing around our living room / kitchen are their primary food source now. Auric and I think it’s charming and satisfying when they catch a fly mid-swoop (they haven’t pooped on anything yet), Lucy isn’t really phased one way or the other (she doesn’t want to kill native birds apparently), but Thora can’t stand their tiny, chirpy racket.
And speaking of Thora, look who was willingly present in 2 photos and briefly (unwillingly) in one video! It’s my human daughter Thora!

Today’s cool outfit is brought to you by my awesome sister Natalie! I love this shirt. Thanks, Nitchie!
What do I love slightly more than this shirt? How jealous Sean is of the shirt and his transparent efforts to sabotage (I’m tellin’ y’all) my claim to it. Apparently it [air quotes and using my faux Sean voice] doesn’t look very good on me.
Lucy got a case of the zoomies and it was Mommy’s Bed where the Wild Rumpus started.
And lastly, it only took a global pandemic but I’m doing a clean out and tidy up of the pantry. I happened to have bought those pantry stickers on a whim a month or so back.
Who was I kidding — everyone, that’s who.
Neither me or those stickers thought we’d actually do it, but here we are. The stickers are as surprised as I am.
And it gets worse before it gets better. That’s why the photo is of the tiniest sliver of the completed project. Everything besides those 7 tidy old containers is now pantry shrapnel all over the kitchen. Fun!
Be well everybody! xoxo
