Isolation Day 12: Today in isolation meant Sean was home all day which was pretty great. Being cooped up means there are soooo many minutes in the day for the kids to be jerks. Who knew? Though there’s a good amount of the good, too. I have to remind myself. Here’s some of that: • before my work meetings, I did a cardio session. Each time I laid down to do my set of leg lifts, Lucy clobbered me with nuzzles and licks. It was pretty cute. • the kids are becoming quite confident in the kitchen. • today I brightened my mood with bright clothes. It worked because I’m simple! • Sean and the kids watched a recording of the old 1990 Duke vs UConn elite 8 game that went into overtime. • Thora made a List of Constructive Things in hopes to encourage her to do more than sleep this time away. • Thora made shepherds pie tonight for dinner. In late March 2020, our small island nation of New Zealand went into full Lockdown to eliminate the Covid19 virus. We were instructed to isolate in our bubbles, except for essential needs. We were housebound -- just the four of us. I didn't start out thinking I would post daily updates. But after a few days, I realised that looking for highlights to make up the content of that day's posts forced me look for the humour in these anxious and extraordinary times.
