Isolation Day 12:⁣

⁣⁣
Today in isolation meant Sean was home all day which was pretty great. ⁣

Being cooped up means there are soooo many minutes in the day for the kids to be jerks. Who knew? ⁣

Though there’s a good amount of the good, too. I have to remind myself. Here’s some of that: ⁣

• before my work meetings, I did a cardio session. Each time I laid down to do my set of leg lifts, Lucy clobbered me with nuzzles and licks. It was pretty cute. ⁣

• the kids are becoming quite confident in the kitchen. ⁣

• today I brightened my mood with bright clothes. It worked because I’m simple! ⁣

• Sean and the kids watched a recording of the old 1990 Duke vs UConn elite 8 game that went into overtime. ⁣

• Thora made a List of Constructive Things in hopes to encourage her to do more than sleep this time away. ⁣

• Thora made shepherds pie tonight for dinner. It was a winner! ⁣

• I finished the pantry cleanout! It is so satisfying to have combined the many duplicates of various opened bags that were hiding in various places. And Sean will be thrilled that I’ve used sooo many of the “good jars” I’ve been collecting. He’ll also be thrilled to know that I’ll have to start collecting again. ⁣

Tomorrow. Saturday. Not sure what we have on the cards. But I’m guessing it’ll look a bit like today. Here’s hoping you all have a great and safe day. ⁣

xoxo⁣

Isolation Day 9:⁣ ⁣ Lots of family exercise in our house today. ⁣ ⁣ 🚶‍♂️A long walk for Sean (rehabbing a strained calf).⁣ ⁣ 🏃‍♀️A hill repeat session from a 4-week running program for me. ⁣ ⁣ 💪Thora busted out another session of her school’s distance learning PE homework. ⁣ ⁣ 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏊‍♂️ But Auric showed us all up by out of the blue, completing a solo DIY triathlon. He went for an out and back run down the road in one direction, collected his bike at our driveway for a ride up the road in the other direction, finishing up with several laps in the pool. ⁣ But that wasn’t it. I came back from my exercise just in time to see The Fightin’ Pococks’ Makeshift Gym. ⁣ Sean and Auric had played the time-honored game, “Fill These Bags with Stuff!” in order to improvise weights.⁣ ⁣ Thora joined in too for some duffel bag lifting, thera-band pulling, and toilet paper barbells. You know, your classic gym equipment.⁣ ⁣ And speaking of Thora, you may be wondering where she is in all these upd...

Isolation Day  8:  Boys be like: let me communicate with you through these tricks that I’ve been working on . ⁣ ⁣ So here are some back flips for his cousin in France. ⁣ ⁣ And before you say anything, yes we should power wash that tramp and perhaps tuck those poles into the net, but I mean who’s got time for that?  #akidslife

Isolation Day 11:⁣ ⁣⁣ Things (besides working from home) that happened today. ⁣ ⁣ • an early trip to the store ⁣ • a (relatively) clean body means a new tattoo canvas⁣ • sibling cuddles⁣ • half-assed yoga⁣ • 2 dog walks⁣ • dropping off groceries to an older neighbor and chatting with him for a bit⁣ • Meals are whatever, however⁣ • Reading! ⁣ • some good progress on the Isolation Pantry Cleanout⁣ • though there is still a disheartening amount of pantry detritus everywhere⁣ • Auric and Thora cooked dinner while I had a zoom happy hour with workmates.⁣ • Auric’s first attempt at homemade sushi wasn’t too shabby. Have a good day/night everyone!
